In a more serious form of answer, despite the fact that I don't think it'll actually inform Mark at all: no, I would not push the button. Death may be permanent, final, and feature no afterlife, but that does not absolve me of trying to make the one life we do have here on Earth better. Especially if, as per your hypothetical, I'm some form of civic leader.

I mean, duh. Perhaps I just like tilting at windmills myself.
