No apophenia, I don't think you are rambling.
I have often considered the worship of the written word as magical by it's followers and said followers were in the main illiterate. But to clarify this point of view one has to "ramble" through the workings of the human mind, possibly to come to the point where it is realised that the human mind on the whole is lazy and will take any easy way out it can.
