What developed afterwards, RR are still going, but at the time, the engine used in the Mig 15 blew everything else away.
Not really, it's Mig-15's light weight and low wingloading that gave it the climb rate and ceiling to blow everything else away, it's engines, if anything, forced upon it a fat fuselage compared to what would be possible with an axial turbojet, and probably degraded its performance as a result.
