No it is not self evident.
It is.
Nope. How is it self-evident? If it was self-evident how come so many people - such as myself - doubt it?
Where's the evidence?

I am not straying at all. I am being completely on topic. You claimed above how "[...]faith in something that is far greater than yourself or God results in greater humility or selflessness". I am saying in this first point (point '1.') that you have not shown that humility and selflessness equal to this cannot be done without faith. You are merely asserting that it is self-evident. What point is there in asserting to me that it is "self-evident"? Well it's not self evident as far as I am concerned okay? So perhaps you could actually evidence to me how, faith, how belief without evidence, can be amount to greater morality than believing with evidence? And how, more specifically, does putting this "Faith" in "God" make any difference?
Quote:Also, by ruling out faith you have excluded almost everything, if not everything (beyond one's own mind). How so?
Evidence the credibility of "Faith" that you apparently believe in then. Why do you believe that believing in God gives you extra power to do morality? As I said in my entirely relevant point in point '1.', what makes you think that all these acts of morality isn't just as good without faith...or, more specifically: Show me that this cannot be done without faith because otherwise, what you say, I consider completely totally and utterly baseless.
Quote:I think its really something that belief in God produces the best results in the world.1. Prove that. 2. In cases where such a belief may be consoling to an individual, as I said...that doesn't make the belief true!
