Mohammed isn't a vague mystical figure we don't know very much about people did write quite a lot about him, this was all compilled into the hadiths. So as far as we know Aisha was 6 when Mohammed married and 9 when he did the deed.

But first, look at the sources in the article you posted, the earliest source is "al-bukhari", which is also the name of the scholar who wrote the book.

Problem is...al bukhari wrote his book after almost 300 years of the prophet's death. Now how many legends, myths & personal opinions were embedded in these writings ? nobody knows.
