I'm going to write a detailed topic soon about how accurate those sources are.
But first, look at the sources in the article you posted, the earliest source is "al-bukhari", which is also the name of the scholar who wrote the book.
Problem is...al bukhari wrote his book after almost 300 years of the prophet's death. Now how many legends, myths & personal opinions were embedded in these writings ? nobody knows.

No, the penalties of any kind of assault in Islam are one way ; they never go around to include other parts.
