Though I haven't done salmon eggs, I really enjoy the little tiny orange eggs (I forget what they are called). I especially like it when, like an hour later, you feel something in your mouth and you are like, "Bonus! A leftover fish egg from my sushi feast!"
I'm going to try uni again - there are other things that I didn't love on the first try, but warmed up to.
The tiny orange eggs are tobiko (flying fish roe) or masago (smelt roe), though other fish roe is often substituted. I like tobiko, it's nothing like salmon roe, and the little surprise treats you saved for later are always fun.
Anybody that's putting toro on a hook needs to have his head examined.
Yep, masago is the one. Good stuff.
I have tried to get toro here (that's the fatty tuna, right?) but it is rarely available and expensive as hell when you can find it so, sadly, I have yet to try it.
