My 11 year-old son shows signs of Asperger's, though he hasn't been diagnosed. He wants nothing but to be everyone's friend, and he tries so hard, and is so trusting (and oblivious). He's a great kid, overflowing with empathy and love, but completely clueless to social cues.
It breaks my heart when I see the cruelty that kids and young adults are capable of.
