There is no other logical starting place.Hello ChadWooters. Interesting "logic" you operate under. If this is your argument, then at least 50% of human life is destroyed "naturally" by the mother since less than 50% of fertilized eggs go on to pregnancy. Also, what about identical twins and triplets? When does their unique life start? Remember - this happens merely if the embryo splits in two. So if your argument is that a fertilized egg a few hours old is a human life, then how come can in fact develop into several human lives?
What kind of "logic" do you operate under, and how is it superior to science?
I don't particularly approve of abortions in any situation where the mother or other foetus lives are in danger. However I am able to stomach abortions up to about 6 weeks into the trimester (or roughly 4 weeks after actual conception). If I could change the law, I would change it so that all abortions - except where the lives of the mother or other foetus are in danger - after the end of the fifth week of pregnancy are illegal. I believe in the sanctity of human life, and that a 6 week old embryo is undeniably human. A six week old embryo is only 8mm thick, but that's when the heart starts beating and its own blood is first formed.

"That's disgusting. There were clean athletes out there that have had their whole careers ruined by people like Lance Armstrong who just bended thoughts to fit their circumstances. He didn't look up cheating because he wanted to stop, he wanted to justify what he was doing and to keep that continuing on." - Nicole Cooke
