For me it has always been Salvador Dali's The Persistence of Memory.

For me, I love the emotive contradictions I perceive. Haunting yet serene. Confused yet ordered. Dismaying yet encouraging.
I had also heard Pink Floyd's Time before seeing the painting; they are inextrably linked in my mind.
