Chad: I was a Complete Ass

After reflecting some reflection, I see that I acted like a complete ass. I wrote thoughtless things reactively without proper consideration of the readers. Nor did I write things entirely consistent with what I actually think and believe. I dogmatically asserted that atheists go to Hell. That in itself is not an unusual belief among Christians. But because I did not add certain important qualifiers, my responses were legalistic, harsh, and unnecessarily judgmental. I acted foolishly and wrote rashly. And I resolve to continue participating with more carefully considered posts. My apologies to everyone.

Frankly, your quibbling evasiveness about whether your are apologizing for a fundamental doctrinal error, or merely a tactical error, in asserting non-believers go to hell only serve to further reinforce, not reverse, the abysmal impression brought into very sharp relief by your orginal offense.
