A good case against God

Alright, I'll give it a shot. I apologize in advanced if this is repeated because I haven't read all the posts, I've read quite a few but not all..

You said in one post ''Great minds like; Darwin...'' I stopped reading there because wouldn't that be a little bit of a contradiction since, you know....His theories on evolution and all ? A theory is just a theory until proven to be a fact, but to me it already makes too much sense and I believe this over any other story. Especially the one over Adam and Eve.

If evolution was a fact, there would be no need for a God, nature takes it's course and finds it's own way.

For the sake of argument let's just say Darwin's theory was a fact, Christians would still say; ''God wanted it that way.''

I think you've got a bit of a misconception about scientific theories, here; the standard anti-evolution canard is that "evolution's just a theory!" But all that shows is the marked ignorance of the person making that claim; a scientific theory is different from the standard definition. In science, a theory is a framework that explains observed facts; you've got the theory of gravity that explains all aspects of that phenomena, germ theory of disease that explains that, etc etc.

In this case, you don't have to say "for the sake of argument," that Darwin's theory is a fact because... the theory of evolution is a fact! We've observed it happening under laboratory conditions with fruit flies, germs develop resistance to antibiotics because of evolution, the various breeds of dogs owe their existence to the fact that evolution is a real process that's happening, and all of that is discounting the genetic and fossil evidence that simply proves, unequivocally and conclusively, that evolution is a fact.

Hell, to see how true this is, you only have to look at the claims of those denying evolution, the intelligent design movement; I have yet to find a single claim by those charlatans that wasn't a specific, direct denial of evolutionary facts. Since they claim that intelligent design is science it should be able to make its own hypotheses to test, but the truth is that it doesn't, it only responds to claims made by real science.

Anyway, don't want to derail things too much, just... hey: theory and fact.
