You cannot be held to or enter into an illegal contract "in good faith". The church cannot impose their religious beliefs via law -through a contract- and as employers even doubly so...in an employment contract - in direct defiance of labor law.
Before it even comes up - no..the churches right to exersize their religion has not been infringed upon - if they do not wish to be subject to labor law they can simply stop employing people and continue their godly "business" un-fucking-affected- or appeal to have the law changed...good fucking luck.
The catholic church has a long history of not acknowledging their inability to enforce their religious creeds upon others via law. Anyone who wants to talk about people entering into a contract "in bad faith" ought to point that crooked finger at those who feel compelled to draw up unenforceable and illegal contracts....don't you think?
