I'm pretty sure Steam is available as a Linux binary now, so wine isn't necessary. Also, Linux has had pretty good NTFS support for a few years now.

Yep... so the accomplishment here is getting windows STEAM and linux STEAM to use the same directory through ntfs-3g?
