Right, but then he/she went on to discriminate in his/her hiring practices by asking about religion and discarding anyone that was a believer. Not all religious people are going to use company time for religious rituals, so to weed out all religious people, rather than asking if their beliefs will interfere with their ability to perform the job, is bigotry, not protecting the company as he/she is trying to make it appear.
