Yes, I believe one can walk away from Christianity, simply by returning to the worldly ways one was to leave and leaving Christ out of their life. I do not believe that God will take away our salvation because we sin while living for Him. It is a choice, just like it was a choice to accept Christ as Lord and savior. To break it down to a basic belief I believe one can believe in Christ yet reject what He did. I do not believe that one can be a Christian and reject the existence of Christ, just reject Him as savior.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
