Have you figured out why God decided that eternal never ending torment was a fitting penalty for not believing in Him?
I've always wondered WTF He was thinking when He did that.
Seems... excessive.
I've never had trouble with this issue, sin is an eternal action because it is against an eternal God, if the sin is not forgiven the sin will continue eternally, thus an eternal punishment. This might seem to simple but, I see no reason it should be made more difficult than this. One other thing because there is an eternal reward wouldn't justice demand a eternal punishment.
In Matthew 25:46 eternal is used for both life and punishment, so either they both are forever, or at some predetermined time God will end both, I'm hoping for everlasting, which are you wanting Catfish. The word translated for both is the same Greek word. The OP was never meant as a debate for me and I'm holding to this.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
