Alright, but your ideals have been struck down already. Communism is dead.
The true progress of mankind can only be archived with the individual progress of nations. Not with the creation of a single earth state that owns everything.

However, neither can it be archived with a single earth state where all capital is concentrated at the hands of a select few individuals, without no restrictions from a certain government.

There must be a balance, where a nationalist government will take it upon itself to take care of his own people, and promote social equality and justice, while protecting personal property and inheritence rights, while standing against the exploitation of ones own resources by international corporations.
This is the stance of nationalism in regards of socioeconomic issues.

I personally do not use the term "socialism" since it has now a negative association with the left wing, instead I use another term in my native Turkish language, though I have to invent one for english to form a clear distinction between internationalism and nationalism in that regard.
