And why is sin there?
Because we are imperfect, lowly humans.

Wouldn't it be so much simpler to live healthy lives as humans without worrying about any man in the sky sentencing us to eternal suffering because of our (finite) sinful attitude he himself created?

He did not create them, we did, scripture even tells us we did and that in the last days man will make himself more perverse than at any other time.
