Indeed. There is a reason. Indoctrination.
Here in the States us Texans have indoctrination about being Texans. We're taught in a hundred ways that Texas is the greatest state in the US. Everything is bigger in Texas, Texas is like a whole other country, songs, food (Texas style), etc.
The problem with this is that Texans are overly proud of being from Texas. So, in the military a lot of people hate Texans because they think so much about their home state.
There's nothing great about Texas compared to any other state. We have better things and worse things going on compared to any other state.
But we are casually raised to believe that Texas is the greatest, most awesome state ever. And it's all bull.
I think you've fallen for the same thing about your country.
This is where you need to show some independence of thought and rationally examine why you feel this way. And determine if it is warranted.
It if is warranted then you should be able to tell everyone else the exact reasons why this is the case and we wouldn't be able to refute your facts. If you can't you're just indoctrinated with a false and grandiose concept and going along with the idea because it's a boost to your self-esteem.
What I find most disturbing is your idea that the only thing that matters to you is your country. And you're just a cog in the wheel. No other ultimate purpose but to do whatever will advance the goals of your nation.
With this mindset you can justify doing the most horrifying and terrible things. Happily so. All in service to your nation.
Because your nation is all that really matters, right?
