Is your E.T social?
If your ET is visiting earth from somewhere else, it has to be social. Because a lot of cooperation is needed to achieve a voyage like this. Of course this is assuming they got here voluntarily and weren't stuffed into a spaceship by more advanced ETs taking over their home planet and drift to earth.
I personally think that social beings with a certain level of intelligence are likely to have a religion. But I think it's highly probable they do not, as well.
My reasoning for why they have a religion is because religion has occurred in different cultures independently from each other.
My reasoning for why they do not is because their brains may be very different from ours, and may not have such things as "beliefs". Or are not capable of compartmentalizing as we are. It's hard to say, we know so little about our own brains as it is.
