Yeah, you are making this way more complex that it has to be.
agnostic atheist - I don't claim to know if a god exists, but I do not believe one does.
agnostic theist - I do not claim to know if a god exists, but I believe one does.
gnostic atheist - I claim to know that a god does not exist, therefore I do not believe.
gnostic theist - I claim to know that a god does exist, therefore I believe.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
