It all has to do with the concepts behind each part of the Trinity. The three parts are essentially: Creator, Begotten and Within.
In theory, when you accept Jesus, that's when "The Holy Spirit" comes in to your heart. The Holy Spirit is, in sum, the divine that is within you once you have accepted Christ. In the Bible, it's often used as a reference to a guiding force that reveals certain truths, such as when Elizabeth met the pregnant Mary and The Holy Spirit revealed to her that she was not only with child but that this was the Son of God. Thus when Charismatics invoke The Holy Spirit in healings or exorcisms, they are invoking the power of God from within themselves.
So to reject The Holy Spirit is to reject this very process of salvation. This is probably why it's the unforgivable sin.
