Sorry this isn't a joke of mine, but on tv I saw Conan made a joke he said that the pope said that atheists are free to go to heaven and that atheists said back that he is free to go to a void of darkness when he dies.
I thought it was funny but as an atheist I don't think you go to a void of darkness when you die. I don't know what happens when you die. But if you lose all consciousness, there won't be a void of darkness, a void of darkness implies consciousness to experience a void of darkness.
People are scared of death they are scared of the loss of people they love and of themselves so they make up things like heaven, that's what I've always thought.
