Why do Atheists spend so much time debatng the existence of God?

belief is not the issue Esquilax. They talk about cancer in the same context as atheist talk about 'god' ...... a disease that needs appropriate therapies and abolition

Yup. I'm just bringing to light how ridiculous that whole "you really do believe in god, you just don't want to admit it!" line of reasoning is, since it so often comes up around this question of why we'd still talk about god. I dunno, it felt like it might come up in future, and I'm far too irritable to want to deal with that.
