Do atheists believe in the existence of friendship?

Do atheists believe in the existence of friendship?
Hi,

My first point from this question is that if an atheist believes in the possible existence of friendship between two humans, how does he define the best friendship? (Please be aware, it is a tricky question Smile )

Thank you.
Kerim

RE: Do atheists believe in the existence of friendship?
Yes, 'Friendship' exists.

'Best' is a subjective and culturally dependent term.

Great

Cheers.

Why would being an atheist have anything to do with friendship?
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Nope. Atheists don't believe in friendship, dragonfruit, or the color orange.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Friendship is not subject to a partial order, so the question is meaningless.

Also, realize the difference between a 'maximal' element (which exists for any partial order on a finite set) and a 'largest' element (which may not, if there are multiple maxima).

I know where this pile is going. It would be nice if the 'arguments' weren't so damned predictable.

I only pretend to be friendly.... hoomans souls taste so much better after a heaping portion of betrayal.

When I am not "being" friendly, I'm kicking puppies, kittens, and small children.

First, thank you all for taking the trouble to answer my first question by a big YES, though each of you did it by using his artistic talent Smile

Now, it is time for the second question Big Grin

If two persons stand before you, please let me know how you could be sure that friendship exists in them or not. Thank you.

Naturally, the third question will be based on how each of you will answer this second one Smile
