The radical loopy wing on the GOP, also known as the Tea Baggers, doesn't think like that. Many of them were saying the default wouldn't be a big deal.
These are crazed religious fanatics. They'd have happily lit the fuse and burned it all down, dancing with joy they'd finally slain the evil gub-mint. Soon Ronald Reagan would descend from the skies bringing Randite goodies for all the makers. Or something. Who knows what goes on in their heads anymore? I'm done trying to figure them out.
