I wish that you did not have an excellent point there, but unfortunately you have. That damned human nature thing. If we don't kill ourselves first someday we'll evolve past scrapping over tribal god images, my worry is that we'll continue to scrap over rival political philosophies. They have a nasty habit of becoming a substitute religion for many.
Don't get me wrong, you will never get rid of grouping or labels, but when you understand evolution, you can take away the poison which makes those things the priority, and put our common condition at the priority. It can allow us our jollies without killing over it.
