I think there's got to be life out there. Immense, endless amounts of stars and planets. The chances that this is the only one inhabitable seems highly unlikely. If other planets are inhabitable, there's no reason they wouldn't sustain life, if they're as old as ours, or older. Skeptical about exactly what kind though. Super-quick space travel is so far beyond humanity right now it's going to be a long time before we'll find out.

Dreamy sigh.

Hopefully not so long. Captain Picard will come for me, and we will revel naked together in the micro labs listening to the music of the alien bugs (ugly bags of mostly water...)

Wait-I think that's the wine talking. I don't really think that will happen. But it might.

Europa's a great candidate. My money's on Titan, though - it's quite a bit warmer than Europa, and is more chemically active. Still, all that subsurface water (probably) on Europa keeps me hopeful.

My absolute favorite book by Kurt Vonnegut is The Sirens of Titan. It's also in my top 20 of all time, though maybe not in my top 10. If you haven't read it, get on it.
