Alien Abductions & Encounters, and UFO Sightings
September 18, 2019 at 7:41 am
So... Whose got 'em?
Anyone ever see a UFO?
How about an alien abduction experience?
Anything like that?
Let's hear 'em.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.

I have seen UFOs. Unidentified flying objects. Sometimes they hide behind the clouds, not giving a chance to identify it. Was it boeing, airbus? So therefore a UFO

I do not buy any of this crap. "Unidentified" does not equate to proof.
Secondly, whatever life that might be in the universe capable of creating space transportation is highly likely to suffer the same limitations of physics and distance even if they are more advanced. Things like warp drives and worm holes still would require impossible amounts of energy and resources. There is a huge difference between "theory on paper" and practical use in reality.
This modern "UFO" Area 51 crap stems from people seeing new technology not realizing what it was during the two great wars. As far as "abduction" I treat that the same as someone claiming big foot exists, or the Loc Ness monster is real. It is far more likely the person is either a con, or has a mental illness causing severe hallucinations.

@ Brian37
I would be inclined to agree, but much like the thread I made about paranormal experiences, I wanted to hear some stories, regardless of what people actually believe.
Someone might, for example, say they saw a UFO without actually believing it was an alien ship.

I am no fan of feeding conspiracies of any kind. It certainly is possible for people to be rational and see things they can't explain. But I don't like entertaining this because gullible conspiracy nuts do run with it and say, "See see see, you just admitted you don't know, so therefor my bullshit conspiracy fits in as a gap answer."
The same can be said with "NDEs" and someone "surviving" an airline crash, or cancer a doctor claims they should not have.
Conspiracies work in the same way a dog can mistake it's own reflection in the mirror for a seperate dog. If you want to believe bullshit bad enough, you will.

I can tell you about thinking I saw one, and having a vivid memory of seeing one, and a gnawing (secret, for shame) fear of abduction.
To later find out that my vivid memory was a composite of an episode of unsolved mysteries and halleys comet, lol.

It's not my responsibility to think for people. Talking about thinking you saw a UFO confirms the conspiracy theorist's position about as much as saying you think had a revelatoey experiences confirms the Christian's position.
It doesn't. At all.

Some years ago, during a street party in Belfast, we saw a formation of red lights in the shape of a square come up over the skyline. They went lateral for a few minutes, then were joined by blue lights, also in a square. They appeared to move in an arc together, then went down in the same spot them came up. A little later, the whole thing was repeated.
Theories were everything from aliens to a Russki invasion. Turned out, there were some people on the Lough playing with RC sailplanes with red and blue running lights.

When you look at ufology today it seem kind of dead. I mean there doesn't seem to be any prominent voices talking in its name since in May this year Stanton Friedman died and although he was wrong, he was sort of a scientist and he could hold his own in a scientific discussion.
Before him there was astronomer J. Allen Hynek, known for being the "scientific advisor" of the Project Blue Book, he was the original “serious” researcher/believer.
But now, most of ufology revolves around Tom DeLonge, former front man for the pop punk band Blink-182.
DeLonge even founded something called To the Stars Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2015 and sells minimum of 350 shares of "stock" in the company, at $5 a share.
And there's also that nutty Steven M. Greer, former MD but it seems that most of UFO enthusiasts can't stand him. And that seems to be one of the biggest hurdles in UFO movement, that it fractured. There are UFO enthusiasts that like to read, discuss and believe in UFOs and then there are those that take UFOs and aliens very seriously, that they're even waging a cold war with aliens where the later already infiltrated the government and are ruling over the world dressed in human suits and Trump will save them all, or not - depending to which fraction you speak to.
So it's not what it used to be.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
