@ Pippy - Fuck, those sure are some shocking displays of corporate thuggery by Mosanto, i'm glad the industry works differently here, as does the entire health system, to be fai thoughr their (and baxters) mistakes are few and far between with their actual products and research. The scientific studies were no where near as bad as you portrayed either, most were checked by the FDA or other independent testing agencies before they were able to be sold, so the screening standard is unlikely to be problematic. Most mistakes Baxter made with medicine, for example, were from shipping mistakes more low risk contamination. I couldn't find a thing about Baxter shipping HIV infected needles, but they did contaminate a batch with H1N1 accidentally during mass processing. Again not a scientific problem, it was passed their hands long before it got to that stage and basically comes down to human error.
Overall the vaccines and medicines do far far far more good than harm without a doubt, they are still beneficial members of the medical industry. The agriculture stuff sound very fishy too, but i don't really know enough about the industry to analyse that one very well.
