In the meantime, a high-level answer would suffice, similar to Sleepy's; he reconciles the conflict by denying the existence of the 'intolerant' verses. Do you have a general approach for dealing with any perceived conflicts in the way that the Qur'an teaches muslims to interact with non-muslims?
