Because soceity has dehumanized the unborn, Per Hitler's example. If your logic was valid across the board then it would mean a woman had a right to also kill her children as they slept. after all we are not conscious when we sleep.

However as it is this 'rule' only applies the unwanted and unborn. We only dehumanize what we do not want. life and death over a human being has been reduced down to simple want for life in this case.
