Can you acknowledge just one time when you think this supposedly higher intelligence couldn't have found a better solution to the problem in his supposedly infinite mind rather than mass murder or eternal torture in Hell?
It's futile trying to defend such a monster and then portray him as benevolent. I should know. I tried to do just that. Back when I was a fundamental Christian there were acts committed and atrocities that even I found hard to swallow, like in Kings, when he sent two bears to kill children just for making fun of Elisha's bald head. I daren't speak of these passages whenever boasting from my soap-box of his apparent 'cosmic loving nature' because they were simply inexcusable – my god concept was one that advocated child murder, infanticide and child abuse.
Now onto this God's 'Gift of Life', I don't know about you, but I was conceived by my mother, ask my parents and they can assure you that no mafia boss in the sky gave me anything.
Are you trying to argue that not all babies are born equally? That some are biological shells and others have an immortal soul courtesy of magic man?
