Earth is like a quarantine to weed the sick from the healthy. The healthy are granted Janna(heaven) Inch'Allah and the sick go to Hell. So this life on Earth is a TEST. An examination. For assurance Allah will test you, with loss of goods, with loss of life, and only those who keep faith succeed.

To pass this examination, condition Number 1, Sine qua non, is that you worship the one true God, Allah. Allah may forgive any sin, but the sin of Shirk! That is? Associating partners with God. So basically if you believe in 1 God, and if you believe that prophet Muhammad is the last and final messenger of Allah, you have a chance of going to Janna even if you never practice. Because Allah may forgive any sin but the sin of Shirk. Chances are low but there are chances. Now, if you stop having pork, if you stop having alcohol, you're doing YEBADA, you're worshiping Allah subsanna illallah. If you pray 5 times a day again, the chances are greater to go to Janna.

So if you BELIEVE that Ash Hadu Alla Ilaha Illallah Wa Ash Hadu Anna Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasuluh...you earned the right to go to Janna, what comes after, the practicing part, is just you increasing your chances to pass the examination.
