The brand of the word love that you speak of in the greek is Eros. God does not want your eros. God wants agape' which in the english is also translated into the word Love.(with no other distinction) If you take the time to look up the word Agape' you would note that one can give and take agape'. Therefore we can be asked (as it can be given) for our Agape' love.
