I would say because almost all the films are dull, illogical, inconsistent, cloying and terrible, and the people who've read the books are insufferably smug about the fact, and act as if it somehow excuses the shoddy films.
I mean, wizard duel in lotr, people being hurled about, hit wit sticks, walls floor etc. Wizard duels in Harry potter, two people pointing twigs at each other until something akin to a downloading bar travels from left to right (or right to left). It's like a film version of the struggle for better download speeds!
No Christian can speak for all Christians, but that's why this one doesn't like it.
