It's like selling yourself into slavery for the compensation of not being tortured and murdered.
One of the things that really shook me was immediately after I deconverted I found the talks and articles of Christopher hitchens, the one that got me is his article on heaven as a celestial north Korea. The more I thought about it the more I knew he was right as usual.
