Slavery in all contexts is wrong. Religious, chattel, economic.
Just because it still exists today doesn't mean it is okay, nor does it justify the Bible promoting the ownership of other human beings as property.
Besides which, in this country, it is the Christian right which is either directly involved in, or enabling, poverty wages, economic inequality, and that's to say nothing of what they're doing through outsourcing. If we want to define slavery more broadly, we have to also bear in mind that Christians are every bit as guilty of perpetrating that evil as they ever were.
