Then you probably don't understand Science or any the fields of study. The method Scientists use to test phenomena is the Scientific Method, and it is a method of inquiry that must be based on empirical and measurable evidence subject to specific principles of reasoning. Purpose is subjective to each person, your purpose can't be spelled out for you, it's made by you. Just a common problem theists seem to not understand, that the universe isn't here for them, we are the universe experiencing itself.
If the hypothetical idea of an afterlife means more to you than the objectively true reality we all share, then you deserve no respect.
