Christians, prove your minds aren't molested by fear.

RE: Christians, prove your minds aren't molested by fear.
Here's the qualm I have with demons and angels; don't get me wrong I don't care if you believe in them or not. Unless you're jumping off a building expecting angels to save you (mentally ill individuals do this and wouldn't had they not ever heard of angels).Or unless you believe you're possessed by a demon and kill people.then I'd worry for you. But if you believe in them benignly then cool. A vast majority can't do that. They are isolated from the world around them because 'rock music is devil music'.
Or they wont let their kid play with an affeminate boy personality because they're afraid the gay demon follows him. Or they wont allow their kids to play with the Goth girl because surely she's a witch with demon powers. Again, might not be you guys. But you don't know the extent of widespread crazy I've lived in and along side growing up in the Breadbasket of the United States.

Invisible forces with physical interaction in humans lives are an unsound premise. Let me demonstrate.

My 7yr old neice believed the Elf on a Shelf was a live elf because her teacher moved it when the class wasn't listening and left raindeer food scattered on the table. Later in the week I hear her in bed crying and I go check on her; she was too afraid to come get me. Apparently the noise in the vents was an eVil elf trying to come get her on her top bunk bed. I had to explain to her that elf on a shelf wasn't real and boom! that noise in the vent is just noise in the vent.

Stark contrast from when I was a Christian and thought my mind could alter someone else's destiny because god was in the equasion.

Really?!

I would. It's a hateful thing to say whether you mean it or not. Irrespective of any superstition I would have a visceral reaction to wishing cancer on anyone. I wouldn't do something I didn't enjoy just to prove a point to someone I've never met.

Now if someone offered me, say, a pound. THEN I'd be willing to give the op a go.

I said I'd do it. I didn't say I'd like it. Hate implies harm upon someone or something. Since there's no harm its not hateful. Unless you're doing it in hate for hateful reasons. But philosophically, doing that has no more importance than if you committed an unforgiveable sin, in my books. The difference between yourself and I (and the main reason you wont do something that logically can cause no harm whatsoever) , is that I can logically recognize that what I'm doing has no affect on the person in the picture , without fearing a god of vengeance is watching or my eternal well being. is at stake.

Repentance: I'm more random than that. I see it as humility and respect which empowers me. It isn't a fearful thing in that I'm scared in any way or that fear of a negative kind motivates me in any way.

So lets say you committed a doozie (not that sins have different levels of severity according to the Bible anyway), but lets just say you committed adultery. You had sex with someone outside your marriage. Would you not feel that unless you repent before you go to judgement, then you're going to go to hell?
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.
