Ah yes, come up with a cure for a nonexistent disease.
Quote:Ideas like righteousness, repentance, worship, glory, honor, humility etc etc... leave a bitter taste in the mouth of the proud and self centered.
Yeah right, we don't believe because we are too proud to submit to a god. That's it.
Quote:If Christ had come proclaiming a gospel of eat and drink and be merry for tomorrow we die, then many of you would be lauding Him as a great man, a bastion of human liberty and hedonism.
Oh, yeah. I almost forgot, we're atheists because we like our hedonistic lifestyle. It has nothing to do with the lack of evidence for the existence for any god.
I should stop donating my time and money to the various charities I do, and take that extra money and use it to by drugs and hookers. What a great idea.
Quote:The proud and self centered man cannot accept that he needs someone to save him. Life revolves around him and his desires and his wants. He wants men to honor him and worship him and look at him.
I don't need Christianity's invented cure for a nonexistence disease.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
