All "holy texts", like religions, were made by men for the benefit of men. So, of course there's no equality in them.

Is there any reason that, in the 21st century, in a modern society, that all PEOPLE shouldn't be equal, whatever their reproductive organs may be?

feminism holds the white males are responsible for the opression of gays blacks and minorities. as well as western civilzation. this says thats its a crime that only the white man can attone for thus all opressed people are biologically inferior. this is white supreamacy.
