I actually agree with the Christians in the sense that I think, if you're going to make a film of a book or story, then you should try to make it stick to the original storyline as much as possible. Otherwise just make a different film.
These Christians are their own worst enemies though. I had no desire whatsoever to watch this film but now, after their obligatory hand wringing and protestations (I doubt any version would've been good enough for them and they would've found something to moan about), I might just watch it out of spite and try and make it a blockbuster to upset them even more.
