1) No one here has ever denied the existence of Herod or Pilate. There is substantial contemporary evidence for them that is satisfactory to accept the claims of their existence. Not so for Jesus.
2) Atheists tend to know a lot about religion, usually more than the average Christian, because we either studied religion with belief and the more we learned the more we realized how absurd it is. Or, we have a great interest in understanding why people believe absurd things, and debating people who do. Therefore, you'll find many of us have done our research. So you're a presumptive ass for suggesting we wouldn't be interested in this, and that a true atheist wouldn't.
3) You're a first class idiot making strawman arguments. You have no idea what in atheist is, and you have no right to presume the interests of said atheists. All you have to do to be an atheist is not accept the claims of a God or Gods. That speaks nothing to an atheists philosophies, interests, beliefs, and political ideals.
4) Spinach is not a religion believed by millions and used as a way to govern how we live or justify murder and abuse. Until that's not the case, I will be interested in religion all the fuck I want.
