My answer to that usually is if Joe's kid or the neighbors kids or whoever was not your child told you they are afraid of the monsters under their beds, what would you tell them?

Or would you not tell them anything because "they are not your kids"?

It's interesting how people who are otherwise open minded and rational can become absolute kooks when it comes to teaching their kids religious bullshit. I'll bet if I said something to my wife's nephews about atheism I would get a ration of shit from the parents. They would probably say something like "How DARE you talk to my kids about that! They're NOT your kids! I'll raise them as I see fit!"

But then, on the flip side, religious nuts have no problem telling your kids about their religious crap. I have a friend at work who is an atheist and his kids do not subscribe to any religion. Once, when his teenage daughter was over a friend's house, the mother found out that the girl had never been baptised. This woman was aghast and she said, "We have to get you baptised right away!" This didn't happen because the girl's friend stepped in and told her mother that you can't baptize someone else's kid. But otherwise, this lunatic was ready to pack off this girl to a church to get her baptized! Can you believe the incredible gall of these people?

And this was in this Century??? Amazing! I would understand if it was oh, say during one of the "Black Death" plagues or something; but NOW?? Maybe the mother was an "Inquisitor" in a previous life??Confusedhock:
