Everyone screams persecution these days: women, gays, lesbians, blacks, hispanics, muslims. Christians may as well get in on it too.

BTW: some of those groups you mention have legitimate reasons to have gripes with society, though few openly scream persecution.
And some Muslims will just riot.
I don't think there is any institutionalized persecution in the US, but there is a strong move on to put christianity down. It's probably coming mostly from Hollywood, which has enormous power to influence public perception. Of course institutionalized christianity has persecuted various groups over history too, but none of it is right.
