What time is of more value? Perpetual vs finite.

RE: What time is of more value? Perpetual vs finite.
Some will say life is meaningless because we're here for less than a century before we die. Some say it's more valuable because that's a big part of what gives things value in life. This special vase I have is incredibly valuable because it's one of a kind, or they really don't make them like they used to. Whereas if I had a billion vases, I wouldn't be upset if one was broken.

Yes, human life is short. The only thing that can remain after we die are the memories of the people who knew us, and the changes we made to society. Though even this world is finite, and when it's gone it will just be one of many planets that came and went before it.

Despite things in limited quantity generally being more valuable than things that aren't, one of the greatest draws of religion is the idea that you will live forever. What exactly you'd do with forever isn't really something I can comprehend. Sure there are lots of things I could do, if I had the opportunity. An eternity of things, though? I'm not too sure.

Descriptions of heaven seem to be kind of vague in the bible. Everyone will be happy, and worshiping their lord and savior. The devil is in the details, after all, and we all know how against critical thinking religion can be.
