It was a case of moggie to the rescue, when a cat rushed to protect a small boy from an attacking dog.

The cat, Tara, sprang into action when four-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo was suddenly bitten on the leg and dragged off his tricycle by the dog.

Dogs have to be trained to help people - or to do work/jobs which is what normally happens, it's not in their nature to just do it. And in fact when dogs are attacked whilst working they often never work again. This often happens to guide dogs.

A dog given even adequate love & attention and basic discipline will never attack a child unprovoked.

Pardon me but that's bullshit. There are thousands of people who've said "I don't know how my dog could have done that". Hell where I used to work there was a dog named Argos (at a different/neighbour's business) - lovely dog, not a German Shepherd but a similar breed. His owners treated him right, he used to come play with other people, etc. He was never mistreated.

After he bit three different people he was put down.

FYI if you go to pat a cat that's particularly unfriendly/wild it will scratch you, but it won't bite you.
