I dunno, I've always seen necroposting as a non issue that's dated back since message boards began, and rules should be done away with. Maybe there is a logical reason why many don't like it, but I've never figured out why. But I've thought the same about boards with a contradicting rule of "Don't start a new thread if the same one already exists, even if it is hidden 6 months in back pages." Ok, random thought over. Flame me.
