He told them to pray "like this" and he recited the Lord's prayer to them. To me that's a model of prayer, straight from Jesus' mouth. We're not going to ask him to do something against his will. He does cause things to happen which wouldn't ordinarily happen, in which case it would be something that conforms to his will, rather than something that runs counter to it.
